YOU GUYS HAVE HELPED US RAISE OVER $1000 so far!!!
Cannot thank you enough! This means that not only are the S&R teams getting some much needed help, but the print credit jackpot someone will win will be over $1500 and still counting. Charity will remain open through July 11th.
***DETAILS ON YOUR CHANCE TO WIN ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF POST***
Oh how my life is a whirlwind right now! We just finished moving across town this past weekend and are still in the process of unpacking. All of you waiting for your proofs and prints...I APOLOGIZE!!! My life has been more than chaotic the last few weeks with some very unexpected and some expected setbacks. So, thanks for being patient :) No pic again on this post, but lots of sneak peeks to come :)
On another note, this post will stay at the top of my blog for a few weeks due to it's purpose...
We all have heroes. Some of them are well known, some are not. My list of heroes lengthened on May 19th when so many people willingly put their time, energy, and money into searching for Zac. I am thankful for them all and they are all heroes to me, but I would like to call attention to two not for profit search and rescue groups who do this for families like ours. Bay County Search and Rescue and Gulf County Search and Rescue. These guys operate off of donations and are not paid to make recoveries. They are volunteers who take off work if needed and donate their time to help people they have never met. They do it out of the goodness of their hearts to help families gain closure after accidents like Zac's. To me, that is a hero.
Never in a million years would I have EVER thought that our family would go through something like this. I've seen "missing boaters" and "missing people" on television, but it never occurred to me that I could just as easily be on of "those" people going through something so tragic. Never say never. So, this leads me to inform you guys that we are hosting a charity for these two amazing groups, in Zac's honor. Every year, in May, we will host this event to raise money for Bay and Gulf Search and Rescue. These guys desperately need it for rope, gas, boats, and a host of other things needed in recoveries.
Here goes the first charity event. This is going to be a donation/raffle and 100% of proceeds will go to these two amazing organizations to aid them in future recoveries. The details:
*** Winner of this event will win a free session...along with the $$ amount we recieve in donations as their print credit. In lamins terms :)...the more money we raise, the more print credit is in the pot. I will start the credit at $500. Let's see how high we can go!!
*** I will draw a winner on July 12th and post the lucky person's name to the blog.
*** Donations will start at $20 each. For every $20 you enter after that, your name get's thrown in the pot again.
*** I will post people's names to the blog (in this post) so everyone can see who has been generous enough to donate to this great cause.
***You may make donations via credit card by clicking the PayPal link below or mail a check to:
(Please make checks payable to Zac Barber Rec. Charity)
Ashli Denton
5564 Hoover Court
Tallahassee, FL 32311
(I will mail a reciept to all who donate for tax purposes as well as include your name and amount donated in a letter along with the donations to both Bay and Gulf S&R)
Guys, you never know when/if your family will encouter something like this. I pray that you never do, but it's nice to help those who help us. It's nice to give back to those who give so much of themselves. I can promise you that to have closure with something like Zac's death is worth more than any amount of money. Thanks to all of you for your continued prayers and support. Let's see how big we can get this jackpot :) Be sure and let ALL of your friends family know too!!!
