The Fate of Flappy

Meet Flappy. Flappy is a penguin. Flappy lives peacefully in Mrs. [L]'s classroom. Unfortunately, Flappy has been called upon for a class project. A project that involves him spending one night with each student. On the following day at school, each student is to write and tell the class about their visit with Flappy. Oh, Flappy, you poor unfortunate cotton stuffed soul.

If stuffed animals could talk, I'm sure Flappy would have belted out more ear piercing screams than Anna Lynn did when she broke her ankle. Here's Anna's story of her "Day with Flappy..."

1. We colored a picture.
2. We ate Skittles in my room.
3. We watched TV
4. We played with Barbies
5. We played Tic Tac Toe in my room

...OK...here's the ones she didn't want to put in her story, but really did happen...

6. Tahra stole Flappy and viciously mauled him.
7. Tripp stole Flappy and drew all over his white tummy with a black pen.
8. Tahra stole Flappy again. By now Flappy needs a thorough cleaning.
9. Flappy meets grass and dirt outside. Flappy need another cleaning.
10. I ****think***** Flappy stole some of Mommy's "happy meds" because there is NO WAY this penguin still looks happy after all of this without any help.

Please pray for Flappy as he still has more sleepovers to endure. If there was a home for mentally ill stuffed animals, I would call and make my friend Flappy a reservation, as I sure as the hair is singed on my head that he'll NEED one when he's finished with this class project.

We cool Flappy. We cool.

This beats the HECK out of my kids "bring home" pet from preschool/kindergarden! It was a REAL live guinea pig "Tweety"!!! He got to go home with the kids (provided they brought a note from their parents...signed in "blood" if I remember correctly!) for a "weekend" visit! (Those "weekend visits" always seemed to coinside with the owner of the preschools PLANNED trips out of town! One smart cookie if you ask me!!) I just KNEW he would croak at MY house on his weekend sleepover, and I'd have 45 crying children when I returned the empty cage to school on Monday mornings! Oh the good ole days!!! :) "Flappy" looks pretty darned happy to me!!!

This cracks me up! Last year, Noah's class read Dr. Suess's "Hop on Pop" book and he got to bring Pop (a really soft, cuddly bear) home for one night. I wouldn't let Pop get out of my sight, for fear of something terrible happening to him, like Reece giving him a haircut, or Ella Grace painting his fingernails. I was constantly asking, "Guys, where's Pop"? The only trip Pop got was a quick trip outside for a photo with Noah (and Reece and Ella Grace). Needless to say, Pop slept in the backpack Noah brought him home in. I'm sure it was a much more peaceful place to sleep than anywhere in my house! :)

Heather, it's nice to know I'm not the only one that deals with stuff like this ;) You were much smarter than I was, apparantly LOL! The kids are GORGEOUS, btw. Saw Mom and Dad's card. So, ready for #4 ;)

I bet I'm just as ready for #4 as you are for #3, right? That would be a negative for me! :)
